    Default Side Jobs

    Hi everybody...

I know most career firefighters do side jobs for extra $$,
but I was wondering if any departments have restrictions on what
    you can or cant do.

I have seen recently that some paid departments don't allow members
to even volunteer locally on their off days.

I was just wondering what peoples experiences are in this area.

and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over!

Not to seem like a smartarse, but try using the search feature!

    Hey Gonzo...

Not to **** you off, but maybe if a new guy asks a question we should guide them instead of jumping on them. I see by his name he has only 4 posts so he may not even of know there is a search option.

Sorry if I upset you, twasn't my intention.

Although with a handle like "DrChaos", maybe he/she was trying to stir things up?

Hahaha... so does that mean you like the handle?

I've got to admit though...I hadn't even discovered the search button when I posted first. I think I've got the hang of it all now though so hopefully I won't double post like that again.

Looking forward to learning from all of you who have been around... thanks.

There is no rule that u can't have a side job. The side job just better not interfere with the department.

There has been enough about this crap on the forums to last a lifetime for all members!

Too many people post out of either pure emotion or pure ignorance. After you've been here a while, you'll understand.

...and yes, I have a life.. Ther's more to life than the fire service, dontcha know!

    Default Side Jobs

Our Dept, doesnt have anything that prevents side jobs.... Infact if they find out you've got a trade, you might be put on special assignment and do the work for the Dept. while on duty.

I myself work as a 911 Dispatcher on my days off..... Wondering about Federal labor Laws with that one!!!!
