Monday, March 22, 2004 - LODD

Sunday night a 40 year old volunteer firefighter died while responding to a woods fire in Jackson County, Miss. The Coroner identified the victim as Terri Eiland. She was driving apparatus and apparently lost control of the vehicle on Bayou Cumbest Road.

The truck overturned and Eiland was pinned in the wreckage for several minutes. She died later at Singing River Hospital. The accident happened about six o'clock. Another firefighter riding in the truck was also injured.

Eiland was a member of the Franklin Creek-Forts Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

As always we send out our deepest thoughts and prayers to the family of FF Eiland as well as to the members of the Franklin Creek-Forts Lake VFD.
