    Default Trained Dogs

Just curious- I saw our local arson investigator using a trained dog at a car fire, looking for accelerants. My question is- Can these dogs be trained to do more than one thing? Like be trained as both an "arson dog" and a "search and rescue" dog?

I talked to our arson K9 and he said no. You have to work the arson dog every day to keep it on track. If you start to get it used to looking for more than fuels, it tends to throw the dog off. State Farm can get you all sorts of good info on these dogs.
