The dept that I work for is currently debating on getting a new truck for HazMat. The current Engine does Fire/EMS & HazMat(amoung other stuff) and because we multi task, we need a bigger rig.
Does anyone have ideas/websites/pictures to get us started? I would like to see a rig capable of holding detectors and a small library as well as our Fire/EMS component as well.
Your help would be much appreciated...

It seems as though the options are endless....
I have seen many layouts and the idea of command/reference library areas can be very broad. There are many many ways to do it, but an inventory of tools and prioritization of functions, is a good place to start. Methodically do it, not throw a bunch of "stuff" into a HUGE box. BIGGER is not always better. Use your space wisely and keep vehicle size in control, yet functional. Heres one nice library command area, built into a three door custom cab, still allowing for a total of five firefighters (driver, officer in SCBA and three crew members in SCBA's).
Stay safe and good fishing.......
