LOS ANGELES, CA:
MULTI-PATIENT TRAFFIC

On Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 0555 hours two companies of Firefighters, six Rescue Ambulances and one EMS Battalion Captain under the direction of Battalion Commander Robert Franco responded to a multi-patient traffic collision on the Southbound 110 Freeway transition to the Westbound Santa Monica Freeway. First units on scene reported an automobile with one occupant collided with a car pool van containing nine occupants with the van overturning. Additional resources were requested and upon their arrival patient assessment revealed the seven adult females and two adult males in the van sustained minor injuries only (neck and back complaints) and were transported to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital. The sole occupant of the other vehicle refused transportation. The incident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
