what kind of retention plans does your dept offer?
Ok, it must be that time of year, that all departments are out trying to recruit new members. However, what about the people on your departments already, what kind of incentives does your departments offer towards the retention of members. How much do you pay your firefighters if paid on call or do you offer any retirement benefits or a 401K program? Does your department pay for schooling like FF1 & 2 classes? What do other departments offer to keep everyone interested other then the love for the job?
