We are looking at forming a RC&D Resource Conservation and Development Council. One of the things that they say they work with is Rural Fire Districts to improve the fire suppression capabilities. Dry hydrants and cisterns are some of the projects. Anything else have any other projects they have funded. We are thinking a cistern system for some of our developments would be very handy. The dry hydrants are nice but since we are in the 4th year of a drought most of the dry hydrants are just that DRY! It sounds to me like another avenue for funds. It is a government program that is administered through the Natural Resources Conservaation Service (NRCS) which is a division of the Farm Service Agency under the US Deptment of Agriculture.
