APSN LODD UPDATE: It it with deepest regret that APSN announce the LODD of Tammy Mundell, Emergency Medical Technician for Southwest Ambulance. EMT Mundell died yesterday when her ambulance collided with a semi truck at the intersection of AZ87 and AZ287. The Ambulance was transporting a prisoner escorted by a prison guard. The ambulance paramedic is in serious condition, and the prisoner and guard are in stable/guarded condition. Tammy leaves behind a husband and an unknown number of children. APSN LODD UPDATE: It it with deepest regret that APSN announce the LODD of Tammy Mundell, Emergency Medical Technician for Southwest Ambulance. EMT Mundell died yesterday when her ambulance collided with a semi truck at the intersection of AZ87 and AZ287. The Ambulance was transporting a prisoner escorted by a prison guard. The ambulance paramedic is in serious condition, and the prisoner and guard are in stable/guarded condition. Tammy leaves behind a husband and an unknown number of children. LOS ANGELES, CA:
GREATER ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE:


On Thursday, April 29, 2004, at 2058 hours, (8:58 p.m.) twelve companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, one Assistant Chief Officer Command Team, four Battalion Chief Officer Command Teams, one Battalion EMS Supervisor, four LAFD Rescue Ambulances, and other support personnel, under the direction of Assistant Chief Lawrence Krokes, responded to a Greater Alarm Structure Fire at 11015 N. Glenoaks Boulevard in the Pacoima area. First units on the scene reported a row of one-story commercials, 50’ x 150’ with fire showing from one unit. Firefighters using forcible entry tools to enter the structure and handlines to aggressively attack the fire confined it to “Van Nuys Manufacturing Company” a cabinet shop and extinguished the fire in twenty-seven minutes. One Firefighter suffered a back injury and was transported to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition. The cause of the fire is listed as under investigation and fire damage is still being tabulated.

1919 - Sandown - NH - Emma True Homestead destroyed by fire - Barn saved by a dozen men from mill 2.5 miles down road - Occupants did not have a telephone and had to use horse and buggy to ride to mill to summon help

1970 - Derry - NH - Railroad Ave - 5 unit apartment building gutted by fire, later razed (conflicting date of Apr 20, 1970)

1984 - Northfield - VT - Fire truck accident Fatal - Norwich University cadet driving a fire truck that went out of control and killed three cadets - Driver was charged with drunken driving with death resulting - One of the Cadet's was married just three weeks earlier
