Somebody hand me a spanner... I've just joined the group. I was so inspired by StayBack and Dave that I had to find an opportunity to experience some pain for myself.

While moving a sofa from the garage to the basement I managed to drop it on my foot. I did, however, pick it up again after a few choice words and get it into the house. This is where we discovered that it won't fit around the corner to get into the basement, so back out to the garage it goes.

Now, I couldn't let my wife know that her big strong Rev was in pain so I said nothing... I think the swelling and deep purple discoloration gave me away though.

She took me to the ER (at the hospital where I work - just to add insult to injury) and now I'm on crutches for the next week or so. Fortunately nothing is broken (on me or the sofa).

    Anyone need a sofa?

I haven't needed the Rusty Spanner yet, but I need to go up and fix my garage roof.

    Default Feel the Love!

My coworkers were rather disappointed that I don't have a "signable" cast so they've taken to writing messages on Post-It notes and sticking them to my foot

    Can I go home now?
