----050204: ***MVA PIN-JOB****At 1725 hours a rescue assignment dispatched to the 2100 block of N.11th street at the Reading/Muhlenberg township line for a MVA. Companies arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident with 5 victims seriously injured, 3 of which were pinned in seperate vehicles. Additional city units special called in addition to County mutual aid units. The 3 pinned victims were extricated with hurst tools at 1745,1748, and 1752 hours respectively. All 5 victims were transported with serious injuries, 2 of which were medivac'ed to a trauma center. Companies assigned: E9,L3,R1,M-3,& C-8. ----050304: At 1740 hours box 87, Ritter & W.Oley streets, AOF 628 Ritter street. 3 story occupied MOR dwelling, fire 2nd floor rear. Under control time was 1755 hours. Companies assigned: E11,8,9,L1,T1,R1,M-4,C-5 & 6,E1(safety Co.)
----050504: At 0414 hours a still alarm dispatched for an automobile fire to the rear of 326-28 Locust street. E1 arrivd to find a fully involved auto which had extended to a 2 story garage with apartments on the upper floor. ----050604: At 0834 hours on a direct from PD, Box 428, 9th & Elm streets, AOF 940 Elm street. Outside rubbish fire with extension to a 3 story EOR dwelling. Fire placed under control at 0843 hours. Companies assigned: E1,3,9,T1,L3,R1,M-4,C-2 & 8,E13(safety Co.)
----Same Date: At 1852 hours box 47, 10th & Green streets, AOF the rear of 614 Moss street. Fully involved auto with extension to two-1 story garages. Under control time was 1910 hours. Companies assigned: E1,9,13,L3,T1,R1,M-4,C-4 & 8,E3(safety Co.)

----051504: At 0843 hours Box 34, 3rd & Walnut streets, AOF 201-03 N.4th street. 3 story vacant 25x75 multiple dwelling, fire set in stairwell. Under control time was 0853 hours. Companies assigned: E3,1,5,L1,T1,R1,M-1,C-5,E11(safety Co.)

----Same Date: At 1725 hours on a direct from PD, Box 241, 9th & Franklin streets, AOF 907 Franklin street. 3 story occupied MOR multiple dwelling, fire 3rd floor. Under control time was 1738 hours. Companies assigned: E12,3,13,T1,L3,R1,M-1,C-6,E9(safety Co.)
----052304: ****CONFINED SPACE RESCUE******At 1859 hours a medical assignment dispatched to 1216 Perkiomen Avenue at the Miller Personal Care Home for a fall victim with entrapment. Companies arrived to find a mentally handicaped Male in his 50's that had fallen down a 15' deep 5x5 shaft lined with water & sewer pipes in the rear of the building. Additional units special called as a firefighter & paramedic entered the shaft to stabilize the victim. Victim extricated via sked stretcher & rescue rope hauling system at 2004 hours and medivac'ed to trauma center in stable condition. Companies assigned: Still alarm: E13,R1,M-4 & C-7. Special call: E12,T1,M-2,Medivac4 & C-22.
----052504: At 1310 hours Box 42, 10th & Walnut streets, AOF 222 N.10th street. 2&1/2 story occupied MOR multiple dwelling, fire 2nd floor rear. Under control time was 1330 hours with 1 juvenile transported with minor burns and smoke inhalation. Companies assigned: E12,13,3,T1,L1,R1,M-4,C-4 & 9,E9(safety Co.). Special call: M-2
----Same Date: At 2203 hours Box 24, Orange & Chestnut streets, AOF 227 S.10th street. 2&1/2 story vacant MOR frame dwelling, heavy fire in the rear with extension to exposures 2 & 4 (similar but 3 story attached). Under control time was 2236 hours. Building was site of multiple alarm fire in late April. Companies assigned: E13,12,5,T1,L1,R1,M-4,C-2 & 9,E3(safety Co.)
----052604: At 0820 hours Box 82, 3rd & Douglass streets, AOF 837 Rose street. 3 story occupied MOR dwelling, fire 2nd floor rear. Under control time was 0829 hours. Companies assigned: E11,3,12,L1,R1,M-1,C-1 & 4,E5(safety Co.
----Same Date: At 1808 hours Box 6, 12th & Greenwich streets, AOF 622 Locust street. 2&1/2 story occupied MOR dwelling, fire 1st floor. Under control time was 1821 hours. Companies assigned: E9,12,13,L3,T1,R1,M-4,C-2,E3(Safety Co.)
----053104: At 1325 hours Box 76, Front & Buttonwood streets, AOF 423 Pear street. 2&1/2 story vacant EOR* dwelling fully involved, with extension into exposure 2 ( a similar but occupied attached). 2nd alarm transmitted at 1139 hours with fire brought under control with an exterior attack at 1458 hours. Companies assigned: 1st alarm: E3,5,9,L1,T1,R1,M-2,C-2 & 8,E13(safety Co.). 2nd alarm: E11,12,L3,M-4,C-1 & 9. One firefighter transported with minor burns. *-Building was formerly a MOR dwelling but due to "urban renewal" was now semi-attached. This block was a hotbed of fire activity in recent years and contained about 60 rowhomes-today only about a dozen remain scattered throughout the block.
