Utah-Cedar Fort Vegetation Fire under Investigation
Utah County Wildfire Investigated
Jun. 7, 2004
(KSL News) -- Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused a late night brush fire, that came dangerously close to a Utah County subdivision.
Crews say the flames were at least 15 to 20 feet high when the blaze started around 10:15 last night.
The flames came within one hundred feet of the White Hills subdivision of Eagle Mountain.
But fortunately, fire fighters were able to contain the fire to a nearby wooded area, known for four-wheeling.
Authorities believe all the dry vegetation there, helped fuel the flames.
Capt. Mike Penovich/Cedar Fort Fire Dept. "The fuel is really bad this year. Whether you're out on four-wheels, four-wheelers, or camping, please be cautious of it."
Firefighters are calling the blaze suspicious.
They say some vehicles were seen in the area shortly before the fire started.
