My favorite scene was the chase through the Dixie Square Mall in Harvey.. "Look they even have a Pier One" ... That place was already abandoned when they filmed it. Made it look better then it did when it was open.

Man, I was already to jump on this one.
The best thing about that movie is the sound track.
Yeah; Henry Gibson dressed up as a Nazi is pretty funny.

Jake Blues: How much for the little girl? Your women, how much for the women?

Jake Blues: I ran out of gas! I got a flat tire! I didn't have change for cab fare! I lost my tux at the cleaners! I locked my keys in the car! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!

"I'll have some toasted white bread."

"Y'All what honey or jam on that toast?"

    "No ma'am. Dry."

"Uh huh. You want anything to drink with that?"

    "No ma'am."

    "A Coke."

    What a wonderful movie!

It's to bad that one of the movies best performers, Ray Charles, passed today.

A great musician will be missed.

Yeah; the scene with Ray in the music store firing the warning shot at the little thief is a classic.

    Default ODD TIMING

It's very odd that this should happen now.....

    ...from the Chicago Tribune
HARVEY -- A fire that damaged part of the closed Dixie Square Mall last week was arson, Harvey fire officials said Sunday.

The fire started Friday in a storage area of the old Woolworth department store in the mall at 153rd Street and Dixie Highway. "There was no electricity or gas service to the building, which leads us to believe it was deliberately set," said Lt. Ron DeYoung.

The 800,000-square-foot structure, crumbling from neglect and vandalism, was closed in 1979. The mall was the site of a demolition derby scene in the 1980 film "The Blues Brothers," starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.

There have been other instances of arson in the mall over the years, DeYoung said.

"It is just an old building that needs to be torn down," he said.
    MIKEY, where have you been?
