Hi all -- just read this on the FDNY website, looks like it's new:

Promotion To Firefighter Examination: Permanent civil service EMT's & Paramedics who meet the age & educational requirements for firefighter will be able to file for the next Promotion to Firefighter Examination in October of 2004.

Open - Competitive Firefighter Examination: Applications will be available to the public to file for the next open - competitive Firefighter Examination in October of 2006.


My question -- does that mean those who take the exam this October will get hired before those of us on Exam list 2043???

Any info would be appreciated
