Unhappy An FDNY Brother...Victim in Iraq

Rest in peace Walter....God bless you!

Florida truck driver killed in Iraq was retired NYC firefighter
MONTVERDE, Fla. (AP) - The Florida man killed driving a truck
last week in Iraq was a former New York firefighter who took the
job to help pay bills for his retirement home.
Walter Zbryski, 56, was working as a private contractor for KBR,
a subsidiary of Halliburton, when he was killed on June 17. The
    company announced his death Tuesday.
His wife, Lourdes Zbryski, and their children, Larissa Zbryski,
12, and Walter Zbryski Jr., 14, have left their central Florida
home to be with other family members in New York. Zbryski's body
arrived in New York on Wednesday.
Zbryski was a New York City firefighter, but hurt his back when
he caught a woman who jumped out of a burning building. He never
fully recovered, and retired on disability to rural Lake County in
"Most of us here are from the South, but he was our New
Yorker," neighbor Julie Seaman told the Orlando Sentinel. "He
would say, `Everything is so slow down here.' And we would remind
him: 'That's why you moved down here, Walter."'
But Zbryski struggled to pay his mortgage and medical bills on
his limited benefits income from the fire department, said his
    brother, Richard Zbryski.
He started driving trucks in Kuwait and later Iraq, lured by the
high salaries. KBR workers can earn up to $120,000 tax-free for
    various jobs.
"They told him it was going to be an opportunity of a
lifetime," Richard Zbryski said. "The money would be falling off
the ceiling, and that he was going to be able to solve all his
    financial problems."
A funeral was planned for Thursday in East Meadow, N.Y. Zbryski
will be buried in his native Queens, N.Y., family members said.

I am confused, was this an Accident or an Attack?

**Disregard, I went to Halliburton's Website and it said he was killed when his truck hit a Land Mine. RIP!
