We just got our Rescue Engine back from the shop after some Accident repairs. We've gone to a different color combination, shown here. What do you think, and what works for you on your apparatus?

Red.
Although to be fair, I have seen some other color schemes which look sharp as well. I get to see quite a few since we have a fire truck repair facility in town.

The day SAFD finishes it's transition from "slime lime" back to good old white-over-red will be a happy one here in San Antonio Harve

I have to say I like the school bus yellow better than slime lime. From pics I've seen PG County departments have many color combinations. Makes it easier to tell the different departments apart.
Our rigs are white over red.
I've always liked white rigs myself.FTM-PTB-DTRT

Stayback beat me to it. I was gonna say Steelers fans will love it. Pirates fans too. Other than that sorry man it's not for me. I love blue w/ white stripe or white with a blue stripe but Red is cool too.

All red or white over red. I also like white with either red or blue stripping.

Always got do red.
From a scientific perspective, yellow reflects the most back and is the most eye catching (If I remember correctly) so I wouldnt mind having bananna boats for fire trucks, one dept. in the county has yellow trucks. Black over red is not bad either.JLS

Harve, we've been chrome yellow since 1949 and I've heard all the 'not ripe yet' and 'school bus' cracks. I will admit, however, that I do like the 'Chicago' style black over red scheme...sharp!

Harve... as much as I like the traditional red or white over red, I think the new paint scheme rocks!
A few diagonal black stripes down the rear flanks, and I can see the new nickname for the Glenn Dale FD...the Stingers!"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

When I was a little kid, I had quite a few books about firefighters. In one of them, it showed pictures of yellow fire trucks and it had a chief saying that red firetrucks would soon become a thing of the past. Heh. Sure, I like the tradition of red trucks... but since I was a boy, I've loved yellow fire trucks. Not slime lime. Yellow.
Here recently, I saw a couple of pumpers that were a metallic silver over red... and I must admit that they look sweet. My department runs white over red on half the trucks and solid red on the other half. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick the white over red.

I am partial to this paint scheme, which we switched to from all red:
