Here's one that's a commerial cab but not a type I ambulance but a type III ambulance with the full walk-thru between the cab and body

    O.K. - maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but I can't think of a single manufacturer that dosen't use a commercial cab/chassis.

Are you simply looking for a list of builders or by "commercal" did you really mean a Medium Duty (Class 6-8) chassis?

I am hoping that you meant the latter. If so here are a few (and by no means all) builders and some examples of their work.
    Hope this helps.

Edit - Included too many images so I'll have to limit it to one example pre builder but if you go to their web page, you should be able to find more.

Our primary ambulance is on an HME 1871-SFO Light chassis. The module is made by Amtech Emergency Products out of Rock Rapids, IA. I'll dig up some more info and pictures later today.

We currently have 3 Road Rescue Type I medic units on International chassis, we have have numerous problems with the IH with steering boxes and other components not being covered under warranty (newest unit) only a year old. Freightliner not being an option, it looks like the GMC or Chev 4500 may be a good option as it's 20K less, has all the medium duty benifits (tilt hood, heavier components) and can be used in either Type I or Type III. I understand Horton is using a bunch or these. Worth checking into.
