Default Will being in the army count against me?

If I work in the army part time (reserve) will this count against me trying to be hired as a full time firefighter?

Many departments actually give credit for prior military service and look upon it favorably.

Also, I believe most if not all states have statutes preventing employers from discriminating against military reservists in the hiring process.

Best thing to do is to check with either your state labor department or directly with departments you're considering applying to.
