LOS ANGELES, CA:
GREATER ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE


On Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 0154 hours twelve companies of Firefighters, three Battalion Officer Command Teams, one EMS Supervisor, two Rescue Ambulances, two Arson Investigation Units and other support staff under the command of Assistant Chief John Ware responded to a greater alarm structure fire at 555 W. 4th Street in the City of San Fernando. First units on scene reported a one story 600’ x 600’ six occupancy commercial with fire through the roof in one 100’ x 100’ unit. Firefighters using handlines confined the fire to the business of origin and extinguished the fire in forty-eight minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation and the loss is $800,000. ($400,000 to structure and $400,000 to contents).
