P.O./Ex-Fire Capt Killed (The Secret list)

On Friday, a retired NYPD Lt who also served 27 years with the Amityville, Long Island FD was gunned down while working a summer p/t job as a cop in a beach community-also on Long Island.

Richard Brooks was in Baltimore attending Firehouse Expo last week and then headed home early to report to his p/t job where he was killed in the line of duty.

Click http://www.firefighterclosecalls.com/secret.php for the story as well as another unrelated story about an FDNY apparatus crash, while responding where a motorist attempted to "beat" the responding fire company to an intersection.

Our deepest sadness goes out to the Amityville, L.I. F.D. as well as the NYPD, the Town Constables but most importantly, his wife, his 16 year old daughter and his son who he just recently helped get settled as a freshman in Annapolis.

Take Care-BE CAREFUL,

APSN was founded by true emergency professionals that are more than just scanner listeners. We specialize in notifying you about major fire and police events as they happen around the entire State of Arizona. Our professional staff knows what news is, and we do not send minor, non newsworthy events. All television, talk radio & newspapers in Phoenix currently use APSN. When you receive an alert from APSN, you will want to know what is happening! Why wait for the evening news when you can have the news, as it happens, delivered directly to your pager or email address! How do we notify you? That is your option. Although alpha numeric pagers have proven to be the fastest form of notification, we can notify any email address that you may have. That means we can send alerts to your PDA, 2-Way pager, cell phone, or personal email.

For paging groups around the country, we use the FNNM national system for multiple alarm or newsworthy incidents. We prefer to receive incidents via SNPP but can receive via dial up modem.
