    Default Radio Drill

    Hey Jay......

I heard your radio drill earlier today while I was at work. Sounds like it went pretty well....except for that "neighboring dept" that I e-mailed you about. I never heard them come up on the radio, did they ever respond?

Default This is MABAS Div 6 to all locals......

    Hi Jeff!

Yeah, it went pretty well. There were a lot of issues with departments not responding. I was not "Mr. Efficient" in getting the word out (ya can't just fax a notice to departments two weeks ahead of time). I got in touch with everybody, but forgot to notify Kane County (Div 13). Ooops! I think they were a little miffed about that.

Anyway, I'm guessing you heard Div 6 ask about That Department not repsonding on the change. I thought that was pretty cool that our center was that much on the ball. I happened to run into their chief that night, and gave him the business (he's applying, too).

We ran it as a response drill for us. It was a 20 minute round trip for the tanker. That gave us 135 gpm with a 3,000 gallon tanker (minus 10% for spillage, etc). I did the math on the church, and the needed fire flow is around 2000 gpm! Guess I'll have to up the tanker response for that building!!

Maybe carrier pigeon or pony express next time?

Sounded like it! I liked the little "umm's and err's" in their responses to Div 6.

Anyway, I'm guessing you heard Div 6 ask about That Department not repsonding on the change. I thought that was pretty cool that our center was that much on the ball.
You guess correctly! Kudos to Div 6, they were sharp!

It was a 20 minute round trip for the tanker. That gave us 135 gpm with a 3,000 gallon tanker (minus 10% for spillage, etc).
    Oh man, That's painful

    (he's applying, too)
