Monroe Fire School is August 13, 14, 15. Anybody else going?
I have signed up for "Incident Safety Officer." This chief business sucks.

I am not sure if I will be there this year or not. It will all depend on my new schedule with the new job. There are 13 guys from my department going and they will be camping at the fair grounds like we always do. I am hoping to make it up there sometime that weekend. This will be the first year I have not been there since 1998. If you get a chance stop by and visit the guys from Erie and tell them Darin sent you! We usually have a ton of good food and plenty of beverages! Take care Darin

We have about 6 guy's going to the fire school this year,
it will be my 3rd year of going. I am looking forward to it.
I signed up for Insipiring Command or somthing like that with Keith Patterson teaching it. I think that is the name. I been to his class's the last 2 years and was very impressed with both the content and the presentation that he gave both years.

No show's
Chief Jay,
First of all, it's me Dick! Not Jeffy. Anyway nice group pic with the house on fire. The guys at work loved it. Second, doesn't look like Big Rock is gonna make a good showing this year at Monroe. It's a busy weekend for everyone. Might put Ludlow's out of buisness?

Well, I got called yesterday to start my new job. I will be starting next tuesday so I will not be at Monroe this year! I might try to drive up sunday morning after I get off shift though. Does anyone remember an idiot getting to drunk about 1998 or 1997 and getting duck taped up during the horeshoe tourny? Just wondering... Be sure to stop by the Erie Camp site, usually near the corner of turn 4 of the track. Take care everyone! Darin

Oh, my aching liver.....
Well, after giving my poor, over-worked liver a rest, it's back to routine.
Another MFS is come and gone. Incident Safety Officer was everything I thought it would be. The instructor was very good, though.
Props to MFD for another great school. While I think the vendors are down, I suspect it's because people go there to learn* and not necessarily to shop. Plus, there ain't many bargains to be had.
It's always a good weekend when you can come home with stories.
Hi Mitzi!!
*Seriously. Learning does take place. In spite of what you may have heard!Last edited by jaybird210; 08-16-2004 at 09:12 AM.

Rumor has it that the number of demo apparatus was down due to the IAFC show in New Orleans during the same weekend. Was sad not to have caught a ride up in a tower this year, I had a streak going there for a while.
I didn't take a class this year - did the lower temps reduce the evening activity in the campground? Quite the event, the after school festivities in that there campground.
