    Smile Thanks

I appreciate you letting us know about this posting. I printed the job posting up for my husband to look at. Currently he is still in the hiring process for Las Vegas (waiting to hear if he made it to the next and final step). But thanks for the additional info.

    Default Las Vegas

Word on the street is Las Vegas is planning an academy for October with 15-20 candidates. Since they seem to be opening a new station each year and two academies you can probably expect another academy in the spring.

    Default Info I "know"

First, Fire Inspector is a 40 hour a week job. My husband wasn't interested in that.

Secondly, Las Vegas IS highly competitive. This last test they gave (my husband took it) there were over 1300 that took the test. He is now down to a group of 100. They are hiring a group of 15-20 for this first class, but the deputy chief that interviewed my husband told him that they were opening 1-2 stations this next year and were planning on hiring another class soon after this first one was finished.

Third, I know that they are extremely short paramedics. Doing mandatory call backs for overtime. So if you have your paramedic certificate, that would surely help the next time around.

They are surely a growing dept that is in constant need of new stations in newly developed areas. Keep your eyes open for the next test to be given.

    Default Update...

    1. I guess the job closed really, really fast.

    2. I know your hubby doesnt want a 40 hour work week, BUT,
I thought you guys really, really wanted Vegas. I understand,
just wanted to throw a ball in your court.

    3. Yes, Vegas is growing by leaps and bounds still. 1300
people putting in for the job isnt that bad. Atleast he
has the medic cert to open doors.

    Good Luck!
