Seeing the few ‘Capture this picture’ threads that are floating around and full of chuckles, I was looking at firefighterclosecalls.com and saw this picture.
I am sure many of you have already seen it but I couldn’t help but laugh with the thought of the fire fighter in Yellow shouting ‘NO, no, your supposed to flap your wings like this!’

..........Please Lord don't let me land on my back!
Just because it's called a throw bag, doesn't mean you throw the whole bag... you're supposed to hold onto the rope.

The groundman is calling him safe even before he touches ground...I'm sure the other team will request a review of the play...

It doesn't seem appropriate to be making a joke out of this considering the injury that is likely to result from landing on his head or back.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

Not trying to brook argument, but some might refer to this as "black" or "gallows" humour - as a way of expressing what is really in the mind and heart, through use of humour.
My first thought was DAMN! Thats gotta hurt. Followed immediately by a run of well wishes to the FF who fell, and that I hope this event is not nearly so bad as it looks. If you don't do it RIGHT today, when will you have time to do it over? (Hall of Fame basketball player/coach John Wooden)

Falling off a roof
I have had the misfortue of sliding off a roof or two while doing some side jobs when I was younger. First though is "$hit this is going to hurt". After landing, tuck and roll style, the "system check" starts. Eyes work, no headache, hands move, back sore but ok, legs work..hay that's great! Than... God I'm so lucky I really could have be screwed up! And last but not least...I do not want a ride in the back of the bus!
Hope the brother is well and he's lucky it was only a single story house!

I agree as well on the making light part,Cap,but it's like what I was thinking two years ago riding outside a Nissan SUV whose occupants were trying to escape after robbing my store"This is NOT the smartest thing I've ever done!".The very next day,I was renamed "Drug"by my station Captain and never introduced to new members or visitors by any other name.
Yes,this guy could have been hurt but since the accompanying message didn't mention any, there's going to be some fun poking at it.I just hope he got off(no pun intended)as lightly as I did, scrapes and one H of a headache.
