2 Phila. firefighters die fighting blaze
ASSOCIATED PRESS
Two firefighters died while battling a blaze in a row home Friday in northeast Philadelphia tonight, a hospital official said.
Officials said the fire was reported at 8 p.m. in the home in the 3600 block of Belgrade St. in the Port Richmond section of the city. Four fire engines and two ladder companies had the flames under control by 9:12 p.m.
One injured firefighter was taken to Northeastern Hospital near the scene while the other was taken to Temple University Hospital, but both were pronounced dead, Temple Health System spokesman Andy Smith said. He said no other firefighters were taken to hospitals.
Neighbors told reporters that the occupants of the home got out safely.
Authorities did not immediately release details about how the firefighters died. Names were not released.

Do we know what house these guys were out of? I met a bunch of Philly guys who came by my firehouse a couple of weeks ago. I am shocked and just really want to find this info out as soon as possible. Those guys were great guys to meet.

Some of our brothers have just returned from Boston, MA and listened to the names of our brothers and sisters who died in the line of duty over the past two years. Now we must come home and hear the tragic death of our two brothers from Philly.
May god bless them and their families.
Note the Engine 28 was slated for closing by Philly Mayor Street, see: http://www.savepfd.com for details.
PFD keep fighting.
