Forest Service announces firefighter apprentice program
GREAT FALLS (AP) - The U-S Forest Service in Montana, northern
Idaho and North Dakota is accepting applications for next year's
firefighter apprentice program.
The Wildland Firefighter Apprenticeship Student Career
Experience Program is designed to prepare men and women for
permanent firefighter positions within the federal agency.
It integrates formal training with paid work experience.
Participants are required to complete two four-week formal
training academies in California and four thousand hours of

well as dispatch and fire prevention and education work.
Applicants must be between 18 and 37 years old to apply. The
deadline is October 8th.
