I am trying to find some clip art to add to pictures for training drills. I want to add smoke and flames to pictures of certain occupancies around our district for response drills (hand the first-in officer this picture and say, "This is what you see").
We have Fire Studio (the program that lets you add smoke and fire to imported pictures) but this software won't let me print these doctored photos.
Anybody got any sources?

I have never used that program before so I am not sure if this will work or not. Usually you can just copy and paste it into another program (i.e. paint, word, works.) and then print it from there. Otherwise, I usually do a google search and find what I am looking for.

Let me qualify by saying that Fire Studio will not let you export the doctored photos, either. You can only display them on a monitor that is connected to a computer with a current copy of Fire Studio in the CD player.
I tried a google search, but it was not very successful.

Jay, I did a search for "flame gif" and THIS is what I came up with. I did see a couple that MAY work......
Another option.....
Can you go into the individual folders for the Fire Studio prrogram through Windows Explorer. Usually those will have some gifs and jpgs listed somewhere in one of the folders, either on your hard drive or on the disk........ If you can find them there, just save them into another folder so you can pull them and use Photoshop or something to insert them into the pics.........
Let me know what you find out......

Wierd stuff. Brian, thanks for the links and the ideas. I see a couple that'll work for the flames. Smoke I may be able to make with my cheasy image editing software.
I tried to find the gifs that Fire Studio uses for the images; there are no gifs anywheres that I can find. There are .cxt files, and given the proprietary nature of this software, I'm guessing those are they. Course, windows has no idea how to view these files.
Buggy, thanks for your links, too.
I'll keep trying.....

Well, it was worth a try...... I used to have the program. I will look and see if I still have it. If I do, I'll see if I can find another way around it......

When all else fails, READ THE DIRECTIONS.
Okay, so maybe it wasn't in the directions, but a short email to support reveals the secret: Print Screen! Saves the window to the clipboard, then just open PowerPoint or Adobe and paste away. (Which, incidentally, is pretty much what Jesika said to do in the first place. I hate it when the women are right.
)
Ain't technology grand?

Buceyes86: thanks for the link to the clipart. They are just what I've been looking for. Now I can do all sorts of things...banners, advertising posters...embroidering a hanging for our hall. I'm just jumping for joy at the possibilities!!! Thanks again
