MULTI-PATIENT ACCIDENT:

On Saturday, August 28, 2004, at 1825 hours (6:25 p.m.), four companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, one Battalion Command Officer Command Team, one Battalion EMS Supervisor, and six LAFD Rescue Ambulances, under the direction of Battalion Commander Michael Rhodes, responded to a Multi-Patient Traffic Accident at the NB 110 Fy and the Century Fy in the South East Los Angeles area. First units on the scene reported a three-car traffic accident with eleven injures. After assessment and triage by Firefighters and Paramedics, nine victims were listed with minor injuries and two were listed with moderate injuries. Of the eleven injuries, nine were transported to local hospitals. Hospitals: Martin Luther King Drew Medical Center, Harbor/UCLA Medical Center, and St. Francis Medical Center. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
