    Default DuQuoin STATE Fair

Anybody else make it to the fair in DuQuoin? The Fire Marshall's tent was a bit smaller this year, but in a much better location and the air conditioning was a good touch.. I worked it on Wednesday with the South Central Illinois Fire Chief's Association, had a decent turn out for help and a lot of youngsters getting a fire safety education. Went back on Saturday and popped popcorn for 3 hours straight and helped out with the sliding pole. Had another good day for volunteers. I'm proud to say that JT was there several days, including the first Sunday of the fair for the firefighter's day. More than we can say for the last one. If we save one person's life because of everybody's efforts it was well worth it. Thanks to everybody at the FM's office for making it a success.

Well Jack, for the second year in a row that I was planning to head down, I couldn't get the time off. I am hoping to be able to attend next year. Famous last words.
