I don't know where exactly to begin, because there are so many things that i can say right now, so many things i want to say to you all. I don't think any of you hear these two little words enough...so i'm going to say them...thank you. Risking your lives everyday for someone you don't even know deserves more than a simple thank you, but usually it's all people have to give, and sometimes people don't even give that, which makes me sick. I'm 17 years old, yes 17. Ever since i was small i've always looked up to the Firefighters and Paramedics and Police Officers. The idea that you're willing to help someone without asking for anything in return is unbelieviable. You may not think of yourselves as heros but in reality you are, to the people that you save everyday you are, and to the people that you watch over everyday you are. The world definatly needs more people like you. Just remember, although people may not say it directly, there are many americans that respect you for what you do and who you are. You do make a difference and you will never be forgotten. There's so much more i can say, but i only have one life to live.

I just wish more people would realize that our world wouldn't be the same without all of you. People take life for granted too often.

We work for the personal satisfaction we get at the end of a call, at the end of a shift where we've all been safe & been able to go home to a family & loved ones. We don't NEED national recognition or the superhero status to keep going, but it's just a nice feeling when someone DOES give a warm thank you as you have.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong

As they say, firefighters do one brave thing: They become firefighters. Everything that follows is just doing their job.
Gang, do we agree that the best part about what Kristina is saying is that she is apparently saying it without having been through a fire herself?
Thanks a lot, CIAgrl! (By the way, if you live near a volunteer department, some of them take explorers at 17! Why wait?)"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”
