Default ladder 49...can I take my kids to see this movie?

My 2 sons, 14 and 9, are asking to go see Ladder 49. Is it appropriate for them? I actually don't even know what it is rated. help me out here. If you've seen it let me know what you think.

    Thanks,

MPAA: Rated PG-13 for intense fire and rescue situations, and for language.

I'd say it would be alright for them to watch it. It looks great and has received good reviews.

You can find more info on the movie at it's website: http://ladder49.movies.go.com/main.html

I saw the movie and I've seen worse on T.V. I am taking my 3, 8, 9, and 11 year olds.

    Very good movie!

As others have said, it's rated PG-13...besides if they watch Rescue Me, they would hear (and see) far worse things...and that's just cable TV!!!

Ladder 49 looks like a well scripted movie actually about the fire service not some soap opera that has a few guys in bunker gear & calls itself a firefighting show (aka Rescue Me).

    Jus my 2 cents...Stay Safe...

Eh, you have to give rescue me some credit, in my opinion its the most realistic depiction of what life at the firehouse is like.. The conversations, the troubled marriages, dealing with death and destruction. Hell the first fire scene I saw they even had visibility reduced (not as much as a real fire though) to give some effect, and showed firemen bumping off furniture etc.
