Quite often members are coming onto these forums asking where to get a particular PowerPoint presentation ofr training.

What websites do you use as a resource?

Sorry Lutan, we have gone to creating our own as to customize to our operations. Found it makes more of an impact on some of our guys when the pictures/images are local buildings that they know and deal with. I will admit, it definitely requires more time on our side but in the end, it's worth it.

Check out Emergency Training Solutions, LLC, at www.etsrescue.com they sell Power point training on the topics of: Vehicle Extrication, HazMat, Building Construction, Ropes and Knot, SCBA. You can change things around to fit your training needs. I use the vehicle extrication in my business and it works great.

I've looked at those tchtrng- do you think they're worth the $ in terms of quality and content or did you have to do too much to them to make them applicable?

Do you get lesson plans, assessment, etc?

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you but have been out of the area teaching classes. As I said I use the Vehicle Extrication CD in my business. You can customize the PowerPoint presentation to fit your needs. Has a very nice picture show in the proper use of the different rescue tools so you can show them on a screen and talk about them and the different operations. The student manual that comes with it is basically copies of the PowerPoint presentation with an area for the student to take notes. The instructors guide shows the PowerPoint slide and has an area for the instructor to make notes. Some of the slides already have instructor notes when you buy the CD. I print out the student book as a hand out to the students, the instructors notes to review as I give the presentations. We use a program in the fire department that I work for and as I said I use it in my business. Only use of a couple times but according to what the students said they were very satisfied with the training they received. If you have a more questions you can contact me by e-mail through my web site at www.techtrngsols.com
