I recently finished reading the 9/11 Commission Report. I believe all firefighters should at least read Chapter 9 of the report which deals with the response by FDNY and other agencies to the attack the WTC.

Ok, I'm curious....why?
"This thread is being closed as it is off-topic and not related to the fire industry." - Isn't that what the Off Duty forum was for?

Chapter 9 discusses the response to the WTC attack. There is plenty to learn about response to large scale incidents. It also discusses how the NYC new that they had problems with communications in the WTC since 1993 bombing but didnot take adequate steps to fix the problem. The communication problems between FDNY and NYPD are documented. The Port Authority Police had no communications plan to handle such a large scale incident. The lack of communication caused deaths.
The report also documents the heroism of the all the first responders. It is inspiring to know that these men would go into the building when they knew the possibility of dying was high.
The report does an excellent job of document the response.
