HI Everyone,

I just got back from my interview with the Montclair Fire Department in New Jersey. Present at this interview was a woman from human resources and a Captain from the Montclair Fire Dept. The HR person seemed rather disinterested and unemotional from the beginning although the captain was more relaxed. It lasted about twenty minutes and covered some basic questions. I think I definately need to practice selling my self more for future interviews. As I was driving home all of the "nuggets" I should have used came fresh into the mind. I think Captain Bob is right about the rehearsal prior to the interview with a camcorder. Anyone else out there in the running for NJ fire departments? Unfortunately I am already 30 years old at this point and beyond the maximum age requirements for the bigger departments. I really hope I can pull this off before my age limits me to the smaller departments as well.
