millitary firefighter

I am currently 6 months away from graduating with a BA degree at the University of Iowa, and concidering joining the military, most likely Navy or Air Force. After the military I am interested in persuing a career as a firefighter. Would either branch have better training or certifications? Do any fire departments recognize military certs and training?

I've been talking to a recruiter in the last few months with the US Army, up by the Great Lakes Naval Training Base. Here's the number (847) 662-5260. If that's to far they maybe able to direct you some where closer to you. I'm not sure about naval or air force or who's better, but you can ask.
