The old man is back in the saddle again..... Promoted to "Acting" Lieutenant effective October 1.
Once I finish battling with Fla and get the rest of my Florida Certs and Finish my AS Degree "acting" will go away.. But....if the cheif has his way it will be sooner. New job description/qualifications (if passed by City Manager) have "catch all" phrase saying. "The fire chief has the authority to accept National Certifications that are equal to or exceed Florida Certifications and has the authority to consider prior career experience."

Congratulations, Stan. I guess this means you weathered the alphabet soup of storms that hid the sunshine state this fall.

BLS Boy....Are you related to Mr. Zucarelli that was the head of the Fire Science Program at NVCC in Va?
Gonzo....Nah....not changing the name. Had it for to long... I have been so damn busy. During one of the storms I worked 5 24s in a row and then a few 60 hr shifts. Also been flying back and forth to Virginia on weekends to see my son play varsity football in High School. He is a senior.
CJ. Charley passed to our south, and Frances to our east making us on the not so bad side of both storms. Ivan went around us and we only got so rain and then of course Jeanne flew right by and only left us a lot of rain. My house weathered all the storms. Had to cut a tree off my girlfriends dad's house from storm 1. And...if you recall....all the storms were on weekends. Storm 1 I was in New Orleans, Storm 2 I was in Virginia, Storm 3 I was in Virginia and storm 4 I was in virginia and got stranded in charlotte and then flew to savannah and had to drive to tampa where my car was (356 miles in 6 hours) through hurricane jeanne.
NJ.....well.... I went to take one of the classes that Fla told me was not equivalent to their class. The first night of class the book was given out......SAME BOOK that was used when I took class....and it references classes I taught in Virginia!!! @#$%@#$^#%^%%$^#$ Florida
Hwoods......ouch...........but .....I am not quite the geezer that you are!
thanks Cheffie
Gonzo.....why didnt you take me with you???09-11 .. 343 "All Gave Some..Some Gave ALL" God Bless..R.I.P.
