JFRD Engineer Arrested On Conspiracy Charges
By Roger Weeder
First Coast News
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A conspiracy within Jacksonville Fire and Rescue has a 16 year veteran behind bars. 38-year old Edward Colleton is charged with conspiracy to commit official misconduct.
The State Attorney's Office says it has recorded phone conversations where Colleton tells a former female fire department employee of his plan. The woman who has not been identified told District Chief Alonzo McQueen that he was the target of the conspiracy.
Investigators say Colleton wanted the woman to invite McQueen to her home then accuse him of rape. The plan included a lawsuit against the city for compensation for damages she suffered.
State Attorney Stephen Siegal is handling the case. Siegal says, "It's a very unusual case. When brought to use sometimes surprised, sometimes not, very unusual case."
Colleton was arrested in Arlington on Tuesday. His bond was set at $250,000. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue declined to comment on the investigation. Colleton is on leave without pay.

Man;
You got to have a real deep seated hatred for someone to go to this extreme.
Or was MONEY the motivator?
I agree with Weruj.

Would it be appropriate to say, "soon to be found guilty" twit?
Because you know the female has already rolled over for the prosecution.
Oh and why wasn't this handled "internally", so he could keep his job?
Wouldn't want any wrongful discharge lawsuits, would we?
Well, if I must, I will say "alleged".
