    Default Lava Lamp fatality

    ....
Phillip Quinn, 24, was killed by a shard of glass that pierced his chest, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
    ....
[Detectives] found remnants of a lava lamp in the kitchen. It appeared Quinn had put the lamp on the stove top to heat it up... The fluid inside the lamp exploded, throwing shards of glass throughout the kitchen, he said. Several shards hit Quinn, including the large piece of glass that struck his chest.

Note to self.... do not heat the lava lamp on the stove top.

Ummm....why would you need to heat it up on the stove? Oh, and just to be clear, this question isn't in reference to your note-to-self.

The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death an accident

    Accident?????

How about ....... DEATH BY STUPIDITY! This check box REALLY needs to be added to death certificates.

And why do I envision a friend named "Cletis" being present?

    Default Sounds somewhat familiar.....

Not to long ago we had a person who claimed they were cleaning their paint brushes......in thinner......and yes...on the stove....The subject was indeed heating the thinner.......needless to say, the brushes were "throw-aways" after this one

Because it takes too long to heat up if using the cord.

Sadly there are at least 5 people waiting in line for their spot.

Wink Don't Clean Your Stetson with Gas!

Years ago a woman was cleaning her Stetson hat in a kitchen sink full of gasoline. She went out to get her laundry off the line. The fumes made it an ignition source. ~BOOM~ Threw the front windows into the neighbors yard across the street. She wasn't hurt bad but the Stetson was a total loss.

Yeah heard about this one on the radio this morning. You just have to wonder what they are thinking. They also talked about a guy in the UK who robbed a bank, but left his cell phone there, it happened to be a picture phone with over 20 pictures of himself that his girlfriend had taken.

    Lightbulb another...

Here's a good one (from San Francisco Chronicle 11/7/2004):
When Claud Gipson-Reynolds got his fire truck stuck in the mud along a rural Sonoma County road Friday, he did what anyone would naturally do: He called for a tow truck on the engine's radio.

The problem was, the intoxicated Gipson-Reynolds had just stolen the fire truck, crashing through the fire station door, to try to push his car out of the same mud.

Instead of a tow truck, dispatchers sent the California Highway Patrol to lock him up.
