Anyone know of good training tapes for size-up. I would like to take the new guys through what steps they need to look for and give them some "pratical" experience. I want to see a video taken from a engine or truck and be able to pause and ask questions. ie What do you see? What does the smoke tell you? Where is the fire? etc. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

FEMA has some interactive CD-Roms on size-up and command.
Oh, and they're free.

You can get three very good video tapes for your sizeup training. They are: Buffalo' Bravest, Best of Ontario, and Early Fire Ground Operations. They are $50.00 a piece and its money will spent. They show several fires as the first in companies pull up and alot good fire conditons on the fireground. Go to www.fdsoa.org - then go to products - once it comes up select videos and the will pop up.

I was going to suggest that Early Fireground Ops.. excellent first due footage. I have another one from the Buffalo / Toronto region that is good as well, don't have it to check the title though
