Small Utah Town Gets Fire Station
Jan. 4, 2005
HYDE PARK, Utah (AP) -- The northern Utah town of Hyde Park is finally getting a fire station.

Believe it or not, officials had just kept everything in an old red van parked behind city offices. However, that meant medicine couldn't be kept there in the winter, and firefighters had to scrape ice and snow off the car before responding to calls. That's IF the van would even start at all.

Now, the Fire Department has moved three emergency vehicles into an old shop behind City Hall.

A fire engine and a brush truck will join the old van as resources available for responding to emergencies.

Officials say it's going to make their response faster and more reliable.

WOW, makes us really appreciate what we already have compared to sooo many others.
