Sure Smokey Bear is a icon in the world of fire prevention and education.
Does anyone remember the ancient and honorable order of the squirrels.
This was a squirrel club develop by the U.S.Forest service in the 1930's and given to childern who visited fire towers.
The club card certifies that the visiter climbed the fire tower on a given date in the national forest.
On back of the card it reads:
The hardest nut the U.S.Forest and the state conservation departments have to crack is the problem of man-caused forest fires.

AS I WALK
AS I RIDE
AS I CAMP
The one I have was issued to a family member who was visiting a fire tower in Northeastern Kentucky in 1943.If you have any other information about the history of this club feel free to post.
