Sure Heavyduty, tell us how great armpit Alberta is after a couple of weeks. Your going to be begging for an unescorted day pass real soon. If you go to the Brunswick be sure to check out the "Grunion", shes the one at the front desk, can't miss her, got a better moustach than you or me. Say hi to Jim Bristo, one of the instructors there, just happens to be my neighbour, and yes you can give him a rough time on me.

Will be sure to give him a hello from you. Kinda moving from one **** hole to another but at least I will be doing something I like. Well am leaving my current hall with a big bang. Tuesday night we had a trailer fire and it was good and bad at the same time. The good part was that it was a realy good learnig experience. The bad part was 2 people didnt make it out. We got in there and found them quick and we had a very fast response, 6 minutes from the time of page to on scene. But we still couldnt get to them in time. If you read the sun today it was third page news. Anyways see ya later. Heading to school sunday.

Well been here for almost a month and I will have to say it is a pretty boring place. The campus bar closed last week so that means that I will be getting more sleep. I dont have to realy worry about how boring Vermillion because we have so much work every night I hardly have time for supper. The instructors are great, would recommend for anybody thinking of taking fire courses to come down to fire-ect.

    Default is vermillion that bad?

I'm just a little curious as to whether or not it would be worth the time to go there for training or find a better option eslewhere. Up until now I'd only heard good things about the training centre, but from the comments here There appear to be some issues.

I cannot COMPARE fire schools because I have only attended Fire-etc. But I will tell you this: everything about the school is great. The instructors are very knowledgable (some kinda like drill sargents though), the equipment is good, the grounds and props are great. This school has been around forever so they have everything down to a science and runs efficiently. The only complaints I have is the town of Vermilion itself. It is your average small Alberta red-neck town. But if you study and work-out in the evenings like you should, your time there should go quickly. Hope this helps with your decision, I try to attend the school as often as I can (I'mm working on my Fire Investigator now)

    Hi everybody,

Quick question for you guys. i want to take my 1021 Fire officer Level 1 at that Vermillion school. Does anybody heard about that program? is it good or not. i think they offer it through distance learning as well.
