Explosion At Fuel Plant Injures Tank Driver
Flames Seen 20 Miles Away

MARSHALL, MO. -- One person was critically injured in an explosion and fire at a fuel storage station in north-central Missouri Friday morning. Capt. Tim Boedeker said the explosion at the MFA bulk plant north on Highway 41 of Marshall occurred at about 8 a.m. flames were shooting 80 feet in the air for about an hour. The flames and smoke could be seen from 20 miles away.

Twister hits Jackson


Firefighters make their way through the debris of Larry Haggard's home at 505 Bonita Drive in Jackson on Friday night after what neighbors say was a tornado hit the home but did not injure anyone. Haggard and other residents in the Flag Chapel Road area said a tornado hit around 5:30 p.m. Haggard's house was destroyed and nine others were damaged. Severe thunderstorms pounded the Jackson metro area late Friday afternoon, dumping about an inch of rain before 9 p.m.
