    Default Fact or Rumor?

Will the newest grant have a provision where small communities will only have to come up with 5% instead of 10%?

Like Jack said, fact. Smallest population areas will be down to 5%, others will remain the same. I haven't heard a number range yet, but I'd imagine that somewhere less than 10K in population with be 5%, 10-25K will be 10% and 25K-50K will be 20%, with over 50K still being 30%.

I did hear that the top range was going to be dropped to 20% matching, but I only heard it once over last summer and haven't heard it again since. The 5% I've heard several times.

    Fact,

In an informational letter from DHS sent out via email last week Departments of 20,000 (in pop.) and under only have to come up with 5% matching funds, the ones over 20,000 is 10 %( I am not sure on this one). But the matching funds for departments under 20,000 was reduced to 5%.
