From Firehouse.com.....
Controversial heiress Paris Hilton is back in the news in New Jersey, after she apparently made an FCC violation by using obscene language on a publicly broadcast fire-dispatch radio.
Hilton and friend Nicole Richie were in Atlantic City on Jan. 14 filming their television series "The Simple Life" at the city's fire station at Mississippi and Atlantic Avenues.
According to witnesses, Hilton gained access to the radio system used to dispatch firefighters. Hilton then said on the live microphone, "Ladder 1, OK, mother (expletive)!"
The use of obscene language on public airwaves, even for fire dispatching, usually falls under the regulation of the Federal Communications Commission. There's no word on if any action will be taken.
The expletive was the dreaded "F-bomb" that has landed other public speakers in trouble.
The series was filming at the station after a New Jersey school district declined to allow Hilton and Richie to work as teachers and cafeteria monitors at a middle school earlier this month.
In related news, New Jersey environmental officials have issued summonses to two men who apparently shot a deer for "The Simple Life," even though they had no connection to the program and weren't asked to kill the animal by producers.
The show's producers had strongly denied allegations the allegedly poaching was tied to the show.
Well, I think someone here said earlier that this was trouble in the making....We should have seen this one coming.....![]()

Gee, I wonder why?
EVEN for fire dispatching? More like "especially" for fire dispatching, wouldn't you think? The use of obscene language on public airwaves, even for fire dispatching, usually falls under the regulation of the Federal Communications Commission.![]()

My dream — and I hope you don't find this too crazy — is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."

I have to say that Paris Hilton is no great shakes. I honestly can't see why people get so fired up about her. She is just another spoiled brate that will never put a hard days work in. She is a total embarressment to that family!

I was really hoping I could start the thread on this one…Damn!
anyway...
Who cares. She is a spoiled brat soaking up the last few clicks of her 30 minutes of fame and then she will be gone. I know I don't plan on watching "The Simple Life 3" and I really don't give two flying Sh*ts about what she does...EVER.
I'm sure that there will be no recourse for the FF involved. Their department set the whole thing up and they HAD to have known something was going to happen. (Personally I'm surprised it wasn't an orgy in the Bunk Hall...but that is a different forum.)
If anything it is one more publicity stunt that reflects badly on her...not the FF involved.
One More Thing... If the FCC can fine Howard Stern for his show they had better fine Paris for her F-bomb. Free Howard!Last edited by StLRes2cue; 01-20-2005 at 02:13 PM.

WHY!!!!!!!
Why are people so hung up on these snaughty rich BI***es? Number one Paris is not attractive! Ever heard of food Paris - its something you eat that contains more than just "a shot of protein"
. TWO - if these twits ever showed up around here they would be thrown out just as quick as they appeared. It is a ridiculous show that - hmm kids watch and try to imitate! (doesnt go far around me).
Stopping now - rant control!

They're more the reason why she is the way she is than anything she learned from her family...

I have to agree with all of you. I don't completely agree with the cause for the way she is being totally from the people who are obsessed with her, and I'm positive it isn't from her family. That is just how brats are. All they want is attention, and unfortunately, she is getting a lot of it. As for the radio incident, I know if I were a FF in that Dept. I would be embarassed just for letting them film there, let alone know she got away with pulling that crap on the air. If she had done something like that in my Dept. she would have had a new butt hole ripped by our chief, especially being a female since he is an older guy and likes to stick to tradition. Not that I have a problem with females in a Fire Dept.
Gonna stop ranting now myself.FF/EMT

What class!
The only thing that bothers me is this (last paragraph in the article):
I never thought of firefighting or dispatching as menial - even for a spoiled brat. The show's third season, which premieres Jan. 26, has the 22-year-old Hilton and co-star Richie traveling the nation, working as interns in a series of menial jobs.ullrichk

ullrichk; exatly my thoughts too. Forget the rest of the article, that last line really caught my attention. And considering they were going to be teachers before that fell through I guess that's menial too.

I have absolutly no idea what the fire department was thinking allowing these two twits anywhere near thier station. Usually I have sympathy for my brothers when bad stuff happens, but man, when you bring it ou youreslf, there ain't much I can say except .. what the hell did you expect ?
I mean , now they heck did they expect any good or positive publicity to come of this looking at past shows ?

After reading the article on the FH homepage my first thoughts was why anyone would open their firehouse to the likes of Paris Hilton and the Simple Life crew. If I was a taxpayer in that town I would demand an investigation as to why this was allowed to happen. Last time I checked the purpose of a fire house it was to protect and serve the residents that fund it. If they wanted to make a mockery of a fire house it should have been in a prop house in hollywood. I think the next show should be filmed from the police station....on the other side of the bars!
