This is a little late in terms of announcement but I debated over & over about whether to post it or not.

The ceremony was this past Friday in the midst of 2-3" of freshly fallen snow. It was remarked that as much as Wayne loved the outdoors and "his mountains" that this was surely a sign that his spirit was all around us.

It is of interest to note that Wayne's wife & both sons were also past members of our department as well as the fact that 1 brother (Past Chief), 1 nephew (Current Chief) & 1 niece are also still active members of the department.
This has been quite a loss to us all as this family name has been synonymous with Ferrum VFD for many many years. We are all truly saddened for this family that has lost so much in the few preceding years.

Rest in peace Wayne.
