Thanks! I can tell you that we celebrated today in traditional Aussie style - it was stinking hot so most Aussies were on the beach drinking beer. Unfortunately the weather is getting nasty tonight with lots of lightning strikes but no rain, so wildfires are springing up everywhere, and the winds are a blowin'

Certainly was. A few of the strikes caused a bit of fuss but over all, a peaceful day was had!
Looks like we're heading out of this season relatively unharmed. Which is good for this year, bad for the next. But, that's what we're here for, right?

That's the problem with this country - we breath a sigh of relief because we've survived another season without losing a few towns and a heap of civilians - and then next season there is twice as much fuel

It's a funny season isn't it? What a mixed bag with the major storms a couple of weeks ago in Melbourne and then high temperatrures. I even noticed a bit of frost this morning on the grass- it's summer for crying out loud!!!

It's weird alright, a non existent wildfire season but at my vollie station call numbers are up on the average overall for the past few months. It's across the board for virtually all call types as well, not a case of making up the numbers on storm damage related calls.
