    I am aware of that other forum. I created this forum to allow Junior Firefighters within Pennsylvania to communicate with each other. This may also lead to several Junior Firefighting Divisions to train with each or possibility hold a friendly competition against each other.

    Our department has had a junior firefigter program now for 5 years. I was in the first group to start the program. It was a great program and enabled me to get some training and experience around the fire station before I became a regular firefighter. We take members in at the age of 14 and currently have around 15-20 juniors. This does not include the juniors that have moved up in age and have become regular members. I feel that a junior program is a great way to boost membership as long as it is done right.
