Thumbs up Bergen County Pipes and Drums "Dirty Hose"

One of my good friends at the Massachusetts Fire Academy and member of the Worcester Fire Brigade Pipes and Drums brought a CD into the Academy this morning . It was the Bergen County Pipes and Drums CDcalled "Dirty Hose".

The cover art is a drawing of a voluptouous young lady wielding a nozzle, the back cover art shows a firefighter in turnouts playing the pipes in front of a raging fire... The music is good too!

In addition to pipe and drum standards, they play "Rock and Roll Part 2" by Gary Glitter, "Tequila" by the Champs and "I Want to be Sedated" by the Ramones!

It reminded me of one night in the lobby outside of the bar of the DoubleTree Hotel at the 2000 IAFF Memorial in Colorado Springs. A drummer from one of the pipe and drum bands started playing the drum line from the Surfari's "wipeout".... within a few munutes there was a thundering of drums and the pipes playing the song!

here's a link to their site, where you can order the CD..

If my basic HazMat training has taught me nothing else, it's that if you see a glowing green monkey running away from something, follow that monkey!

Hey Gonzo, get them to come on a road trip to good old Canada! www.highriverhighlandgames.com or www.calgaryhighlandgames.org

Would be nice to see some eastern US bands out here. High river is last saturday of August (27th) Calgary and Canmore are September 3rd and 4th respectivly.

Come on down - we always have a blast!

Hey Gonzo, does your friend with the WFB P&D know anyone with the parade committee? With the St.Paddy's Day Parade fast approaching wouldn't it be great if we could see Bergen County P&D march in Worcester?

It's always funny when the same thread shows up on two different forums I go to!

I guess men are men no matter if they're into fire or pipes!

My background is the picture from (I think the back cover) of a piper in front of a wall of flames!
