CHICAGO, IL:

Announcing the 2005 Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show !

The Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show, the Midwest's largest annual emergency vehicle event, takes place Saturday, August 6, 2005 in North Aurora, IL. For one day the show grounds at Randall Rd. and I-88 (Aurora Pump Company and Oberweis Dairy) will play host to hundreds of emergency vehicles dating from their inception to fresh off the line.

In addition to getting up close to some of the finest antique police cars, fire engines and ambulances in the country, show-goers can also see modern day "in-service" vehicles on display and in use during exciting real-world demonstrations. These include a series of SWAT team breached-entry takedowns using shock grenades and fire department rescue responses to serious motor vehicle crashes with
medevac patient airlifts.

This event is free to the public and to all emergency vehicle owners who pre-register. Vehicle check-in opens at 8am and the show runs until 4pm. Please try and be staged before the show opens to the public at 10am. 2005 CEVS vehicle registration forms will soon be available at www.emergencyvehicleshow.com along with updated hotel info and photos of most of the 175 emergency vehicles on display in 2004.

Also join us on Friday, August 5, 2005, for the Lights & Sirens Parade & Emergency Vehicle Cruise Night. Parade staging begins at 6:00pm in the parking lot of Tinseltown Theaters, 320 S. Lincolnway
(Rt. 31), North Aurora, IL. The parade departs the parking lot at 7:00pm sharp and travels north on Rt. 31 to John St., west to Willoway, north to Oak St., west to Randall Rd. The arrival of the Lights & Sirens Parade at Oak St. & Randall Rd. kicks off the North Aurora Days Festival. The Emergency Vehicle Cruise Night includes live bands and plenty of food and drink vendors.

This year also marks the return of the Day Tour. The tour and open house will take place on Friday, August 5, 2005, from 1-5pm at the newly opened Aurora Regional Fire Museum. Historically speaking,
this museum is the Crown Jewel of Aurora, IL. The ARFM is located in downtown Aurora inside of the old Central Fire Station which has been renovated to look just like it did when it opened in 1894, minus the 50 seat "Hayloft Theater" of course. There is plenty of safe parking, even for large fire apparatus, in parking lots located behind the museum and across the street from it. Directions and museum history can be found at www.auroraregionalfiremuseum.org

For additional information about any of these events please contact show organizer Dave Weaver at 312-455-1212 or showinfo@gmail.com
