    Default Status Page/Verify EIN

All applicants will need to verify their organization's EIN before starting a 2005 application.

I suggest you do this asap so you won't be delayed when the application opens up on 3/7/2005.

from what I understand, this was basically added for new applicants to pre-register....I don't think it'll be a major time-consumer, or nessicity for previous applicants.

    I beg to differ....

Call the help desk or just log in to the system and read the red text in bold at the bottom of the status page

"The application period for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program begins on 03/07/2005. Before you can start an application, you must verify your organization's Employer Identification Number (EIN). Please press the Verify EIN button below."

    Seems pretty clear.

You're asking for trouble if you think this is just limited to new applicants only.

I was only going off what the grant specialist from ODP said at the workshop I was at two weeks ago, he said it was for preregistrationof new applicants...however, this thread seems to prove me wrong.

Yes, I noticed that to. If you log out and log back in again you will not get this error.

The process to verify the EIN is pretty simple (but there are always exceptions to the rule). Once you verify the EIN online it will tell you that it matches an organization on file and to call the help desk. The help desk will again verify the EIN, the contact person, department, user ID and e-mail address. Once verified, they will tell you that you are all set to start the 2005 application on March 7th. This took less than 5 minutes to complete. Beat the rush, call early.

    Default Verification of EIN

I went to verify my EIN number on the FEMA site and got the message that my EIN matched another organization. Was advised to call the help desk. Which I will do here in just a minute.

    Default Easy Process

This was a very easy process all I had to do was call the help desk and gave them the info they asked for and my account is now verified
